The LP1203 Three
Channel Loop Supply converts low level RS-232, MIL-188-114,
or V24/V28 data signals to high voltage loop signals. The
Loop Supply may be used with a wide variety of low-level and
high-voltage loop data devices. The LP1203 supports both
polar loop (+60V / -60V) and neutral loop (+60V / 0V)
circuits. The internal Send Loop supply may be set for
either 20 mA or 60 mA. The Receive Loop may be connected to
polar or neutral circuits with loop currents between 10 mA
and 100 mA. Each loop channel of the LP1203 is optically
isolated from other channels, from ground, and from the
power line. Each channel may be independently set for polar
or neutral loop, full duplex (FDX) or half duplex (HDX), and
for 20 or 60 mA send loop current. The polarity of each
low-level (RS232, MIL188, V24/V28) send and receive circuit
may be set independently. 22 front panel monitor lamps
provide rapid diagnosis of the performance of each channel.
The LP1203 uses three identical circuit boards, one for each
channel. Repair is as simple as replacement of only the
affected channel circuit board, typically requiring less
than 15 minutes.
The LP1203 is rack mounted with a 3.5" high (2U) x 19" wide
standard rack panel. The cabinet behind the panel is 16.625"
wide, 14.0" deep, and 3.25" high. Rack slides are available
as an option. The LP1203 may be set to operate from 105-125
VAC or 210-250 VAC power lines at frequencies from 47 to 440
Hz. The LP1203 uses high-reliability components and has a
computed MTBF in excess of 20,000 hours.
